Play in the official BC Active Chess Chamionship, all day on April 22 - 23, 2023.

Points earned in this tournament are automatically allocated to the spring season of our rapid chess league. Your best 6 games will count towards your point total for the season. See our league overview for more information on our 2023 rapid league.

Registration

  • We reserve the right to move players to the appropriate section based on their CFC rating

Byes

  • You may request a maximum of two ½ point byes
  • No byes on Round 8 (requests for a bye on Round 8 will be ignored, or you will receive a 0 point bye)

Playing Area

  • No food in the playing area
  • Silence is required in the playing area while games are in progress
  • All electronics capable of making noise, communicating, or playing chess must be powered fully off while playing

  • Vancity Chess may film certain games throughout the event. We always ask players involved for their permission.
  • Photos by spectators are allowed for the first 5 minutes of each round, but please be discrete and respectful to not disturb players
